North Whidbey Park & Recreation District Maintenance & Operation Levy Renewal

On August 1st, the North Whidbey Park & Recreation District (NWPRD) will ask the taxpayers to approve the renewal of the current six-year Maintenance and Operation Levy.

WHY RENEW THE LEVY?  Like all other public services, NWPRD requires additional public funds to operate and maintain its facilities. The community has supported NWPRD for the last thirty-four years. Without the levy, some very important facilities such as the pool may have to be closed.

WHAT IS THE COST OF THE LEVY?  The levy rate is seventeen cents per thousand dollars of assessed property value. This is a yearly cost. For example, a family living in a $270,000 home (the median home price in Oak Harbor) will pay $46 per year to help keep the pool, dog park, and ballfields open and operating as they have been. That family’s cost is less than $4 per month.
